The Epsom Derby has not been a happy hunting ground for favourite backers in recent years. Since Golden Horn obliged in 2015 at 13/8, no fav has won. In fact, 2 of the last 4 winners were priced up at 16/1 and 40/1. Don’t let the market have too much influence over who you bet on, as since 2000 only 7 favourites from 20 have won (35%).
