So, which is the best UK betting site for tennis? Well, to be honest, it was hard to narrow it down to just one. All the major online UK bookies have betting on tennis, while lots of them have live streaming available for a lot of different tennis tournaments too.
Our experts have taken all the above into account and a few other things like trustworthiness, existing and new customer care as well as the quality of the in-play tennis betting experience. The results are in and you can check out our list of the top UK Tennis betting sites above.
Betting on Tennis at William Hill

For us, when it comes to betting on tennis, William Hill is a popular choice as a betting site. One of the leading online sportsbooks not only in the UK but around the world, William Hill have a good reputation among punters, especially those whose main focus is betting on tennis.
William Hill covers a large number of tennis tournaments with both pre-match and in-play tennis betting available. They had 66 pre-match markets available for some matches when we checked and 62 in-play betting markets for a game that had already started. For the Grand Slams, even more markets are available.
Best of all, at the time of writing, William Hill has a promotion for existing customers focused solely on tennis. If you place a pre-match accumulator bet with 2 legs or more on tennis (match betting, first set winner or set betting markets) for any ATP, WTA or Challenger event if your bet wins you will be awarded a bonus of up to 50%. The size of the bonus depends on the number of legs. A 2 leg acca will receive a 5% boost, while a winning 12+ leg acca will be boosted by 50%.

Later on, we will look at some of the most popular tennis tournaments and we outline the best way to approach them from a betting perspective. So, whether you are a big Wimbledon fan or if you prefer the clay at Roland Garros, keep on reading.

Research is vital, with information on things like form, liking for the court surface and head to head stats freely available and easy to find. There are a few other things you can try too. We’re not really one of the Tennis betting tip sites around as we focus more on the best betting bonuses, but we’ve highlighted some things to keep an eye on, so check out our top tips on how to bet on tennis below:
How To Bet On Tennis – Some Top Tips
- Injury News/Rumours – Keep an eye on news and social media sites for any stories about injuries or other important info that might influence player performances.
- Form – Look at recent results to see if the player you want to back is playing with confidence.
- Head to Head – Some players have a fine record (or poor record) against certain players and you can get that information from head to head stats.
- Court Surface Preference – Some players thrive on grass, while others like Nadal are best on clay so make sure to find out if your player is suited by the court surface before placing your wager.
- Market Movers -The market can provide clues so keep an eye out for dramatic moves, particularly on lower-ranked players in small tournaments.
Tennis Betting – Top Tournaments
Tournament | Location | Date |
Wimbledon | UK (London) | June/July |
French Open | France (Paris) | May/June |
Australian Open | Australia (Melbourne) | January |
US Open | USA (New York) | August/September |
Davis Cup | Worldwide | November |
Olympics | Varies (2021 Tokyo) | July/August |
The Biggest Tennis Betting Events
The four major tennis tournaments are known as the Grand Slam events. The first of those is the Australian Open, held annually in January. The French Open takes place in May/June and then Wimbledon takes centre stage in the searing heat of the summer.
The US Open closes the show in September, with the Davis Cup providing some entertainment at the tail end of the season. However, arguably the only tournament that matters to British tennis punters is Wimbledon and we look at how to bet on the biggest and best tennis tournament in the world below…
Betting On Wimbledon

Every year in late June and early July, sales of strawberries, cream and prosecco increase in London. The crowds descend on SW19 for a fortnight of top-class tennis action and there are betting opportunities aplenty too. Outright betting and match betting are the most popular markets, but there is no shortage of alternative options for keen tennis bettors.
With Coral, for example, you will have over 60 markets to choose from, both pre-match, and in-play. You can place correct score bets, who will get the most aces or you can also place handicap bets. For the biggest tennis tournaments like Wimbledon, there will usually be lots of promotions available too. Check out some of the most commonly offered Wimbledon betting specials below…
- Odds Boosts
- Acca Boost
- Acca Insurance
- Money Back Specials
Odds Boosts – Get enhanced odds on certain Wimbledon markets and matches.
Wimbledon Acca Boost – A bonus is applied to winning accas. The size of the bonus often depends on the size of the acca.
Wimbledon Acca Insurance – Money back if one leg of a Wimbledon acca lets you down.
Money Back Specials – Money back as a free bet if a certain player wins a match/tournament.
No matter what sort of Wimbledon wager you are placing, make sure to check for relevant promotions.
Betting on the US Open Tennis
Although Wimbledon is the main tennis betting event in the UK, the US Open is also extremely popular with tennis punters. Held in Flushing Meadows in New York in late August/early September, the US Open is one for hard court specialists. It was first played all the way back in 1881 and it is the final Grand Slam tournament of the year.
If you are having an outright bet on the Men’s or Women’s Singles at the US Open, make sure to look for players who have previous winning experience on hard courts. In the men’s, the likes of Nadal and Djokovic have tasted success in recent years. The Women’s, on the other hand, is a lot more open. If you are having a bet on the US Open, Coral and 888sport are worth considering.

Tennis Markets and Betting Terms Explained
If you are starting out on your Tennis betting online adventure, you should try and gather as much knowledge as you can. There are lots of terms and phrases when it comes to betting on Tennis and we explain some of the key terminologies below. If you are serious about making betting on Tennis pay, the next few sections are well worth a read…
Tennis Betting: Outright Winner
Before the start of every tennis tournament, big or small, there is outright betting available. For the Grand Slams, you can get a bet on a year in advance if you want, which tends to lead to more favourable odds. You can bet on the outright tournament winner and each-way betting is available on this market.
For outright each-way bets with our number one online tennis betting site William Hill, you will get 1/2 odds for 1-2 places. So, if you bet on a player each way you will need them to reach the final to get a return. To get the maximum return, you need your player to win. Outright betting is also available after a tournament has started, but you will usually only be able to bet win only in-play.
Tennis Betting: Match Betting
Match betting is the simplest form of wagering on tennis. As the name suggests, you bet on either player to win a match. Players are priced upon their ranking usually.
As an example, say there is a match on clay and a highly ranked player who is best on grass is taking on a much lower player that is effective on clay. The higher ranked player will be a shorter price, but on clay, the lowly ranked player will have a real chance of winning and their odds will usually be more appealing. Match betting is available pre-match and in-play match betting is also an option.
Match tennis bets are also combined in accumulator bets by lots of tennis punters. Every player you include in the acca has to win or else your bet will lose. Accas are much harder to land than singles and the odds show this.
Tennis Betting: Most Aces/Total Aces
What makes the difference in many tennis matches is the serve. If a player wins a point from their serve, it is known as an Ace. Some players build their careers around a big serve, Pete Sampras and Goran Ivanisevic being two prime examples. In the Women’s game, Serena Williams’ massive serve has given her a huge advantage.
Plenty of betting sites have markets available on the number of aces that will be served in a match. You can bet on which player will serve the most aces, or alternatively, you can bet on the Total Aces in a match. The Total Aces market is an Over/Under type of market. The bookmaker defines a number of aces, 20.5 for example, and you bet on whether there will be more or less than that amount during a match.
Tennis Set Betting/Correct Score
If you are looking for some better odds, the Set Betting markets are worth a look. You can bet on a number of different markets with William Hill, including Correct Score (sets), 1st Set Game Score, Total Games per Set (over/under) and even the correct set score after 4/6 games. It’s worth noting that certain markets will settle quicker if it’s a three-set game rather than a five-set.
The 1st Set total games market is an interesting one. You can bet on the correct first set score for any player with William Hill too. In this market, you need to predict the exact correct score but it doesn’t matter which player is victorious.
Some bookies also price up a yes/no market asking if there will be a tie-break in the set, so that can be worth considering if the players are close in terms of ability.
Tennis Handicap Betting
In the early stages of tennis tournaments there can often be big mismatches. Due to the seeding system, you can see the top-ranked players taking on players outside the top 100 in the world. When this happens, match betting odds are usually very prohibitive if you fancy the favourite. However, if you want to get a bet on at odds against, you can back them with a handicap.
So, say, for example, Roger Federer is taking on a player ranked 150 in the world in his opening Wimbledon match. Federer is priced up at 1/25 to win the match, while his opponent is 16/1. If you think that Federer will win, you should back him in the handicap market -2.5 sets at better odds. You’ll need him to win 3-0 in sets for you win your bet.
Alternatively, you could back his opponent +2.5 sets and if you do, you’ll need your selection to win just 1 set for you to win your bet. Tennis handicap betting markets are also available for individual sets where you back a player plus or minus a certain amount of games.

Tennis Odds – Shop Around!
Betting on tennis is no different from any other sport. If you are having a bet on tennis you need to find the best odds for every wager you place. Certain tennis betting sites are stronger in some areas than others and no single bookmaker can be relied upon to have the very best prices for every single market. Thus, it is important to shop around for the best price.
William Hill, Betfair and Paddy Power have competitive odds for match betting, while Unibet and Coral are worth checking out for outright betting on tennis. Miniscule differences in odds have a considerable effect on any potential wins in the long run, so even taking 11/10 instead of 5/4 will have an effect on your returns over time.
Live Streaming Via Tennis Betting Sites
When it comes to live streaming of tennis, punters are spoiled for choice. Our number one tennis betting site, William Hill, has live streaming of hundreds of tennis matches every week and you don’t have to place a bet to watch. All you need is a positive account balance OR have placed a bet in the previous 24 hours. If you tick either of those boxes, you can stream tennis matches live with William Hill.
You can also stream tennis live with Paddy Power, Betfair, and Unibet, though their requirements for streaming may vary so make sure to check the terms and conditions before signing up. Most older and new betting sites list current and upcoming streaming events in their in-play betting suites, so you can bet and watch in the one place! However, caution is advised when betting in-play as streams are usually delayed by a few seconds.
Tennis In-Play Betting

If you want to experience the excitement of tennis in-play betting, you should look for a betting site with a top-class live betting suite. You should be able to place bets with a minimal amount of clicks as this reduces the chance of you missing a price. Odds should update very quickly and you should be able to bet in-play on both your desktop and mobile devices.
If you are going to bet in-play on tennis, we recommend watching as many games as possible before you start. The more matches you watch, the better feel you will get for the games and this should improve your understanding of in-play bets.

Tennis Mobile App Betting
Mobile betting is popular and quickly becoming one of the most important sectors of the betting industry. Bookies are now spending lots of time and money developing top quality mobile apps, but some are better than others. If you are looking for a quality Mobile App for Tennis Betting there are a number of things to look out for.
Tailor-made apps suited for the device you use are preferable, iOS Apps for Apple and Android Apps for Android. The software should operate smoothly and pages should load quickly. If you like to bet in-play on tennis via mobile, you will want an app where odds refresh rapidly. We liked the Paddy Power App, but plenty of other ones are of decent quality so don’t be afraid to keep your options open and shop around.
Good luck with your bets. And remember to always bet responsibly. If you ever need help, check out our Responsible Gambling page or head straight over to an organisation such as BeGambleAware.

Tennis Betting Sites FAQs
Is it legal to bet online on Tennis in the UK and Ireland?
If you want to bet on tennis or any other sport for that matter, it is legal in both the UK and Ireland. Thanks to strict licensing rules, betting on tennis is not only legal, but it is also very safe with the majority of top UK bookies. Before opening an account make sure to check that the betting site is fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Other reputable licenses are issued by the Malta and Gibraltar Gambling Commissions.
Do any betting sites have live Tennis streams?
If you want to stream live tennis you will be delighted to know that multiple UK betting sites have live tennis streams. Our top UK tennis betting site, William Hill, has streaming for a huge amount of matches throughout the year and you only need an active account with a positive balance to qualify for live streaming of tennis and lots of other sports.
What UK Betting Site has the best odds for Tennis?
It is impossible to say exactly what UK betting site has the best tennis odds. Some bookies are strong when it comes to outright betting markets, while others are better on match betting or set betting. The only way to be completely sure you have got the best price is to check on an odds comparison site.
How often do Tennis favourites win?
Quite a lot. It’s hard to put a percentage on it unless you really worked it out, but heavy favourites tend to start the match at odds of around 1/10 to 1/2. Although they do win a lot of the time, betting on odds as short as this can be risky. It’s worth doing your research beforehand.
